Don't Rely on Estimates for Bills!

I know of 3 people who have been stung by accepting the estimates on gas and electricity bills, with the result that they've finally received a nasty bill on top of the usual ones, for money owing due to underpayment. Two of the people owed about £200 and the third owed a massive £7000!

To avoid such nasty shocks, always check the readings which are estimated on the bills and compare the numbers to the ones on your meters. If they're different, note them down and enter them online, if you have an account, or call them in.
