If you've ever thought that you might like to have some sort of CCTV surveillance system at home or at your work premises but thought that it's too expensive to buy anything worth having, then think again.
A friend of mine recently bought the SUNLUXY® HOME 4CH HD CCTV H.264 DVR Recorder 600TVL Indoor/Outdoor IR Camera System from Amazon UK for about £100 and the picture is great.
Everything comes with the kit; 4 weatherproof cameras, cables, DVR, mouse and remote EXCEPT the Sata Hard Drive required for the DVR. My friend bought the Generic Hard Disk Drive 320GB SATA 3.5 inch and it's perfect for their use, using motion detect recording.
The cameras are 6mm with 600TVL and produce high quality video in colour during daylight, and at night, produce black and white footage using infrared light. Both situations produce very clear pictures and the colour is very good. You can hook it up to a pc monitor or tv via a VGA socket (cable not supplied) or a tv with an AV socket (cable supplied). You can even watch it on your computer using a network cable from your broadband router!
The only drawbacks to this CCTV kit, that I am aware of is the lack of a detailed manual. It comes with a manual which is obviously a dubious translation to English. It covers the different settings but doesn't always help you to choose the correct ones. There's a bit of trial and error involved. There's also a leaflet which does replace some of the missing info from the manual but if you search Google, you'll find lots of information and videos for the Sunluxy DVR and once you're used to it, it's actually quite easy to use.
I think this is a brilliant system for the price and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I searched online and couldn't find anywhere cheaper than Amazon for a kit like this.
Other Sunluxy CCTV Kits on Amazon UK
The bullet cameras in the kit above are white. There are lots of other Sunluxy CCTV Kits available on Amazon, some with black cameras and wider angle lenses and some with 8 channels and cameras. There are also cameras with only 420TVL video quality (not as sharp as the one above). Choose a kit for your needs.
